Most people find it easier to attach a CSS stylesheet for
controlling formatting in HTML. See:

That process is easier and more direct (just edit the CSS and reload)
than customizing the HTML XSL stylesheets.
BTW, although you aren't using a separate title page,
the stylesheets are still using the titlepage mechanism to
handle the article title. Think of it as a titlepage without
a page break after it.
