Re: [docbook-apps] Placement of revision history in HTML output

Hi David,
I would recommend that keep the releaseinfo element in the bookinfo so you
can validate your document. The stylesheets assume they are dealing with a
valid document, and as Dave
pointed out, the XSL processors do not validate. You can modify the
stylesheets to output the information where you want it. XSL can select
content from anywhere within a document.

Regarding FO output, revhistory is output for some document types such as
article. But it is not output for a book, probably because Norm couldn't
decide where it should go in a book. If you want to include it on the title
page (recto or verso), you can use the titlepage spec file to add
revhistory. See the way article does it in fo/titlepage.templates.xml.

Subject: [docbook-apps] Placement of revision history in HTML output

I am using Docbook XSL 1.66 and have a document with a number of revision
history entries. They are placed on the front page above the index which is
annoying as it means the user has to scroll down quite a way to get to the
actual table of contents.

Is it possible to have the revision history in its own appendix? The table
format it currently outputs in is absolutely fine, I just don't want it
above
the table of contents.

Also, in PDF or PS output (from FO) I don't see my revision history anywhere
in the document, is this correct?

Thanks,

David
