Hi Steffan,
This can certainly be done with a customization. Lucky for you, there are
already two ways for formatting variablelists, so adding a third way can be
done by copying and modifying.
Take a look in fo/lists.xsl at how variablelist template uses the dbfo
list-presentation processing-instruction to select the format. In addition
to the values of "list" and "blocks", you could add "run-in". Then add
templates in a new "vl.as.run-in" mode to format it the way you want. The
mode that is closest to what you want is mode="vl.as.blocks". Instead of
two blocks, use one block, with the term processed before the listitem.
