Using tables for tabular data is a logical and good practice. It's also
not forbidden by accessibility guidelines since this use is logical and
legitimate.

What is wrong is to use tables for layout purpose. Tables are not
inherently bad.


I take the opportunity of this message to thank Rene Hache for the
effort he is conducting. I actually share all his views. I would also
add that, just like him, I would prefer to go the XHTML 1.1 way. But as
it has been demonstrated, XHTML 1.0 Transitional is "safer" for
DocBook at least for now.
