Re: DAVENPORT: Announce: Extended DocBook Synopses v1.0

/ Terry Allen <tallen@sonic.net> was heard to say:
| | Oh, barf! I hadn't noticed that name collision. Drat and blast!
| | I don't know what to do about that. I know what I'd like to do,
| | subvert Interface and steal it for this new purpose. Given that
| | it's losing it's class attribute in 4.0 and getting a
| | drastically simplified content model, we might just pull that
| | off.
|
| Um, please no. Perhaps we should in the fullness of time change
| the present interface to gui or something. But if the present
| interface is for /Graphical User/ Interface, what is the qualifier
| for interface in the context now under discussion? /OO/ Interface?

Right. I know we can't do it, but it's still what I'd like...

Yes, object-oriented programming is the context under
discussion. Alas, <oointerface> just seems really ugly and it's
bound to cause confusion. Theoretically, I know what I'm doing
and the other use of interface just never occurred to me.

                                        Cheers,
                                          norm
