Passivetex builds on xmltex, which parses XML. A good solution for
Jade would be to have it process the .fot output of jade, which would
remove the need for the whole TeX backend at a stroke. That's what I
would work on. Plus a transformation from FOT to XSL FO, in the hope
that FO renderers will come along (as they are doing)

I'd also make Jade emit FOs not FOTs, perhaps, but Didier already
plans that I seem to recall
