That was irrelevant, and now I've got my catalog sorted out, so just
about everything is working with docbook 4.0 XML -> html, I get these
messages too (so now I can't even get Latin-1 working, let alone
Latin-4).
(actually, my messages are like this:
jade:/usr/lib/sgml/ent/iso-lat1.ent:6:19:E: "X00E1" is not a function name
