Anyone have an ex. CSS body that would accept <note role="beginner"> or
<note role="intermediate"> and show a small icon image in each note?

What is used for making paragraphs that would stand out as advanced sections
in a tutorial ... like, beginner, advanced, and guru icons next to a
paragraph w/ a background of a different color and thin border. The latter
is cosmetics, but how would one add an image next to a paragraph of text as
a sort of level indicator.
TIA,
