Slides and Profiling: supported or no? Thx.

Greetings.

Looking to confirm my assumption/understanding that the profiling mechanism available for DocBook (XML) DTD is _not_ (easily??) also in place for the (DocBook) Slides DTD.
(That is, no, I don't think I want to do it myself :>) )

Here's the only thread (Oct. 2001) I found searching "Slides and (profile or profiling)":
http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/docbook/200110/msg00137.html
which makes it sound like my assumption is the case.

Could be the design decision was either:

	1) something to get around to later, maybe... :>), and/or

	2) if you're going to the trouble of pretty much manually selecting out content from your DocBook document to put into your Slides presentation, you are more or less doing your own "profiling" in the process, to meet the needs of that particular presentation. (A little copy & paste & edit and you can make another presentation to another audience another day...)

Thanks in advance for helping me to stop "barking up the wrong tree..."

P.S. Related query: Am I right in understanding it's largely manual copy & paste to put portions of my "source" DocBook <book> into my "ad hoc" Slides <slides> presentation XML file? Or are there some XSLTs out there to help with this step, too?? Thanks. (Again, a search on the Archive re: "Slides" didn't yield anything on that.)

P.S. I very much enjoyed coming upon the "BIG THANK YOU" to Norm Walsh mega-message in the Archives (Feb. 2002).
