No-one can help you resolve the inconsistencies for this other than the 3rd
party packages author.

It's not ideal to merge the two repositories. Instead rename current to
something else. But if it's really a 1.3.1 port, you may have difficulty
getting it to work with current CVS anyway without a small amount of
effort.
