First off, don't send questions directly to Red Hat engineers. Send them
to this list.

Second: yes, you can 'install' eCos on a PC without a native OS. But
your use of 'install' suggests that you expect eCos to be a replacement
for Windows or Linux. It's not.

What you can do is link your application against eCos and run the
resulting executable on a PC via RedBoot. It's all described in the
documentation available at sources.redhat.com/ecos
