Which version of GNU tools is recommend for arm-elf?

We are starting in on some new eCos/RedBoot development. Which GNU tool versions are currently recommended for the most stable development platform? I know that
http://sources.redhat.com/ecos/tools/linux-arm-elf.html currently recommends the following versions:

1) Binutils 2.10.1 (most recent is 2.13)

2) GCC 2.95.2 (most recent is 3.2)

3) GDB/Insight 5.0 (most recent is 5.2.1)

Are the older versions still the best ones to use or should we use newer ones? Thanks in advance.
