Hardly, because 8051 is not an GCC target. If You want to work with Linux for
an 8 bit microcontroller, You should have used the ATMEL AVR series (they
have built-in flash and eeprom and much m ore). The GCC works fine for those
and there's already plenty of other linux tools.
Perhaps take a look at <http://avr1.org> or <http://www.openavr.org>
