The current simulator has no facility for generating output. There are
patches around for fixing this. Take a look at:

We (eCosCentric) have recently rebuilt the H8 toolchain including
those and other patches. However, we also need to coordinate
releasing this with releasing an update to the H8 HALs. At present
we just don't have the spare time to do that.
