I'm probably a bit late, but insight is started with 'xxx-insight', not with 'xxx-gdb' (with xxx your cross environment,
e.g. arm-elf-insight.
And yes, insight-6.0 runs under insight, but see

(maybe already fixed?)

I had tried /dev/ttyS0, and any number of other variations.
Had not thought of that.
I don't suppose you know if anyone has an insight interface to gdb working
under cygwin?
I compiled v6.1 from the insight code, but no GUI :-(
