[ECOS] Porting base

I am wanting to do a port for the Motorola DragonBall. I have heard that the 
current Coldfire port is 'broken' - how is it broken, does anyone know?

Also the structure of the HAL files seems to vary a lot between the 
different platforms and I can't decide which is the most appropriate or up 
to date structure - some seem to use var and proc, others don't. Is there a 
good one to use as a template as a starting point? The Coldfire one seems a 
bit complicated compared to say, ARM e7t with its var and proc 
subdirectories.
