Re: can get DHCP IP address, but cannot ping

Hi, Nickolay, Andrew

Thank you for help last week.
I tried the method Nickolay told me. Here is the result:

"tcpdump icmp":

No message output. After I pressed "Ctrl_C", following is displayed:

 0 packets received by filter
 0 packets dropped by kernel

"arp -n"
Address HWtype HWaddress Flags Mask Iface
192.168.0.198 ether 12:13:14:15:16:17 C eth0

but this record is not always displayed.

Now I doubt it in 2 point:

(1)My transfer hardware circuit is not reliable.
If this is the problem, why it can get DHCP IP address successfully every time ?

(2)I made the hardware interrupt disable. Is this a problem?

Looking forward to your further advice.

xxchen
