And yet another 2 cents. Any feedback from a friendly list is good
thing, but, a few good books by the subject would be a deal to start
post anywere then. You wrote in the RTOS mailing list, don't warry, I
know one joke: "A computer is a state machine. Threads are for people
who can't program state machines." So, there are alternatives for RTOS
in the world of small cpus. Nowadays, famous of them is Time-Triggered
Embedded systems. There is a free book "Patterns for Time-Triggered
Embedded Systems" (which also targets 8051 microcontrollers) on "TTE
Systems" web: http://www.tte-systems.com/books.
