OK, I did expect some "false positive" with the gnulib patch that Tom
applied.

What is the status of the
strerror test function?
Is the gnulib version "safe"?
Should we remove safe_strerror altogether?
I have no idea if the mingw specific parts inside
mingw-hdep.c have an advantage as compared to the gnulib version.
Could anyone comment on this?
