The release tarball gdb-5.3.tar.gz has these files:
utils/sparclite/Makefile
utils/sparclite/Makefile.in
utils/wince/Makefile
utils/wince/Makefile.in
The 'Makefile' files are bogus. They are configured by 'sun4' somewhere in the release process, and then bogusly included into the tarball.
gdb-5.2.1.tar.gz does not have this problem.
gdb HEAD%20030109 still has this problem.
