The process "10956" ( from a ps ) appears to have disappeared.  GDB does not appear to katch the errant LWP signal, or that the kernel does not report the user/thread error.

This also appears to occur in the land of the i386/rh folks also.

GDB bug? Kernel Bug?

U need my (in progress port of ) OpenOffice 1.0.2. It is large ( 70meg )

There was a forum in the RH/enterprise errata release that reports to have this fixed. I dont have any more pertinent information about their fix.
