Hello,
This bug was originally filed against gdb 5.0. I have no idea if it's been fixed in more recent versions of gdb or not. But 5.0 is so old that it's not worth pursuing this issue any more.
If you have a similar problem with a more recent version of gdb, such as gdb 5.3 or gdb 5.3.92, you can file another bug report and I'd be happy to take a look at it.
