	Please specify which release of XLC you are using.  XLC has been
more in lockstep on AIX 4 but many updates were available for AIX 3.2.
Please provide the output of:

% what /usr/lpp/xlc/exe/xlcentry

Recent revisions in each branch are:

xlc-1.2.0.32
xlc-1.2.1.33
xlc-1.3.0.43

XLC on AIX 4.1 have different numbering.

	This may have been a problem in much earlier versions of the
compiler, but not in an recent releases.  Also, IBM terminated support for
AIX 3.2 last December if not earlier.
