   I  used autoconf 2.13 to regenerate configure but am using
   BFD_HAVE_SYSPROCFS_TYPE
   to check for the structures used. The original tests in the gdb directory were
   stronger but the bfd stuff seemed to be nicely wrapped up.

I figured out the problems I was running into (bad auto* runs), and
your changes are now committed into both the master repository and the
4.18 branch, so they should appear in the next pre-release snapshot
when Jim B makes it.
