Well, it is a matter of opinion. gdb 4.18 doesn't work very well
for me under Linux. I really appreciate those Linux patches.

To share the code between Linux and other OSes is tricky. But it
is not that hard if you really want to. As I said, my original patch
for gdb 4.17 works on both Solaris and Linux. You can try it out on
SCO to see if it works.
