Not everyone has CVS installed on every development machine they use.
I, for one, only have CVS on one machine, which is not my main
development platform.

I use snapshots and *diff.bz2 files almost exclusively. I almost
never do "cvs up", for some valid reasons which I prefer not to go
into.
