Didn't you send in a patch to change TYPE_LENGTH from chars to bits?
I remember discussing this with you (or someone else doing a TMS DSP
port) but if anything made it into the mainline GDB sources I don't
remember that part.

Very embarassing when I can take a 4 year break from GDB and come back
to find the same bugs/limitations still there just like when I left.
Sigh.
