Just FYI,
The long ago proposed change to store GDB's version number in a separate
file, thus allowing it to be updated nightly, has been committed. If
all goes well, the next snapshot will contain a version number of
``YYYYMMDD-gdb-snapshot''.
All this leaves is the bit of magic to tweek the CVS repository.
