passing supplemental files to tests

i dont suppose there is a way to pass supplemental files to tests
without writing my own .exp file ? or is there an method being used
in other GNU testsuites that i can extract ?
for example, i'd like to put into my test:
# sim: --foo $srcdir/localfile
-mike
