Hmmm.  I don't have a PPC machine available to test against.  Works on my side
on an Intel architecture for a variety of test cases though, so it must be
something specific.  What byte order is the PPC?  Is it MSB perhaps?  I don't
know whether it may be related.  I can probably test on SUN/Solaris.

I don't know whether you are aware, but Gnumeric which I use frequently, also
apparently uses the GNU C library floating point-  It displays similar problems
to what we have discussed here.  Magic spreadsheet program though.
