[Bug libc/11169] New: configure: error: gcc must provide the <cpuid.h> header


1. ../configure --prefix=/usr --exec-prefix=/usr --bindir=/usr/bin --
sbindir=/usr/sbin --sysconfdir=/etc --datadir=/usr/share --
includedir=/usr/include --libdir=/usr/lib --libexecdir=/usr/libexec --
localstatedir=/var --sharedstatedir=/usr/com --mandir=/usr/share/man --
infodir=/usr/share/info
2. checking for cpuid.h... no
configure: error: gcc must provide the <cpuid.h> header

The glibc manual (http://www.gnu.org/software/libc/manual/html_node/Tools-for-
Compilation.html#Tools-for-Compilation) describes I can use GCC 3.4 or newer, 
GCC 4.1 recommended.

I'm using gcc 4.1.2
