   I'm not sure how many ten-year-olds could grok Scheme, but if they
   could, that would be great. A good teaching language for younger ages
   (IMO) which provides a good introduction to programming is UCB
   logo. (No, this is not just the turtle graphics crap you knew as a
   kid, but even that introduced the concept of recursion very early
   on...)

I suspect that a Logo->scheme translator would prove to be a less
difficult project than a TCL->scheme translator, or a perl->scheme
translator, or whatever...
