I was more thinking in terms of doing it right after 1.3 rather than
right before, to minimize the bug fallout before the release.

My only objection is that it would require a lot of apps to do a fair
bit of work to work with Guile 1.3 all at the last minute; my general
opinion is that changes of this sort should happen earlier in the
release cycle.

I'd rather have the prefix for otherwise uncategorized modules that
ship with Guile be `guile', but `core' is an OK name too.
