In some way, that argument seems compelling.  :)

I've thought about `library-vicinity' as something which is of concern
only to slib library files, i.e. belonging to the face slib puts up
against its components.  But your letter forced me to look in slib's
current manual, and now it seems to me as well that we should export
it.

If somebody makes a list of procedures that should be exported from
slib according to the manual but aren't currently exported in Guile,
I'll have a look at it.

(I would be even happier to receive a patch!)
