If everything goes well, we would like to use insight gdb as debugger. The problem I have is that we are today using Diab D-CC compiler which produce S-Record Out-files and I don' t know if gdb/insight support this compiler for source-line debugging. How can Diab D-CC produce the debugging information like GCC -g does ? Or are this debugging information not absolutely needed for source line debugging ?

Insight is GDB. So your best bet is to search for information on using
GDB with Diab. If that shows up nothing, I recommend emailing the gdb
mailing list and asking the people there (gdb at sources dot redhat dot
com). I have no experience with Diab.

[I believe that it can be made to work: there have been occasional
messages to the gdb list which indicate people are using Diab and gdb.]
