I am trying to use insight on a AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 252 under Linux,
where I can produce 32-bit and 64-bit executables. Both can be debugged
with gdb. But insight (that brings its own gdb-version) fails to recognize
64-bit executables.
I guess some option needs to be passed during installation of insight,
but am not able to figure out which.

Hints? No. Just questions. :-)

What version of gdb are you using?
What version of Insight? (gdb -v; insight -v)
How was insight configured?
Does the gdb that is built with insight work?
