Building a 32bit version X86_64 multiprocessor Opteron platform.

Subject: Building a 32bit version X86_64 multiprocessor Opteron platform.

I'm getting some nonsensical results when I run insight on the 32-bit executable I need to debug on my HP xw9300 system. The HP has two 64-bit dual-core Opterons. I'm assuming that the problem is that I'm running a 64-bit debugger on 32-bit code, and need to run a 32-bit debugger instead. I've tried using "./configure i386," but when I do a make on the result, I the following. "i386", "i386linux" and "elf32-i386" don't work.
