I'm all for it. Been using java 7 for Android development for quite sometime now, and it works fine (both for build tools and compilation).

You have to use PreProcess (done automatically during the build)
to get source code suitable for Java 6 or Java 5.
(2) The binary releases would be built for Java 7.
