Re: glibc-2.0.106 manual depends on linuxthreads

   Hi!

While I was building glibc-2.0.106, I noticed that
   manual/chapters.texi unconditionally refers to
   ../linuxthreads/linuxthreads.texi. However, linuxthreads is
   supposedly an optional ``add-on.''

manual/chapters.texi should be automatically generated. If you remove
the automatically generated files from the manual subdirectory a
manual without the linuxthreads documentation is generated if you
configured without the linuxthreads add-on.

However I'm not sure whether proper dependecies to have chapters.texi
regenerated are included in the makefiles. The problem is that
rebuilding the documentation requires makeinfo, which might not be
present. In that case we do not want to regenerate the info files,
and just install the info files that come with the distribution.
The question is whether these info files should include the
linuxthreads documentation or not.

Mark
