Under not proper setted locale in Solaris system, it emits octal formatted
characters like following *sometime*.

\110\055\107\120\060\172 \065\077\076\106\070\056
IMHO, It may be more reasonable then "???? ????" messages.

when someone see a message like "???? ????", they may think it as a lack
of any functionality (of the glibc or linux).
