It looks like that patch was originally posted by Andreas Schwab of SuSE
(see http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-glibc/2002-12/msg00056.html
for his patch and Changelog entry). The arm folks are after me to add
it to crosstool, and they say that it works. Probably a good bet.
