environment variable for English version of error message

Hi!

We were discussing error messages and bug reporting on the debian-i18n
lists because some people were doing bug reports in their native
language instead of English.

One problem is to report a bug in English when you run your application
in uoir native language, the error message is simply not in English, so
it is hard to report!

An idea came up to generate an environment variable with the error message
formatted on the MSGID string instead of the MSGSTR string. This would
then not be displayed to the user, but it would be available for doing
a bug report. Is this a feasible way of handling the problem?

Best regards
keld
