PATCH: Add bits/byteswap-16.h and use GCC builtin 32/64-bit bswap
- From: "H.J. Lu" <hongjiu dot lu at intel dot com>
- To: GNU C Library <libc-alpha at sourceware dot org>
- Date: Fri, 6 Apr 2012 12:40:13 -0700
- Subject: PATCH: Add bits/byteswap-16.h and use GCC builtin 32/64-bit bswap
- Reply-to: "H.J. Lu" <hjl dot tools at gmail dot com>
Hi,
This patch add bits/byteswap-16.h for __bswap_16 and puts 32/64-bit
bswap in bits/byteswap.h using __builtin_bswap32 and __builtin_bswap64
from GCC 4.2, as discussed. They are also on hjl/bswap branch.
Tested on Linux/ia32 and Linux/x86-64. OK to install?
Thanks.
H.J.

* bits/byteswap.h (__bswap_16): Removed.
Include <bits/byteswap-16.h> to get __bswap_16.
(__bswap_32): Use __builtin_bswap32 for GCC >= 4.2.
(__bswap_64): Use __builtin_bswap64 for GCC >= 4.2.
* bits/byteswap-16.h: New file.
* sysdeps/i386/bits/byteswap-16.h: Likewise.
* sysdeps/s390/bits/byteswap-16.h: Likewise.
* sysdeps/x86_64/bits/byteswap-16.h: Likewise.
* sysdeps/i386/bits/byteswap.h: Removed.
* sysdeps/s390/bits/byteswap.h: Likewise.
* sysdeps/x86_64/bits/byteswap.h: Likewise.
* string/Makefile (headers): Add bits/byteswap-16.h.
