Well, I did have my reservations about making that comment, but if you told me "here in my country we do it this way" then I'd take it in a certain positive spirit.

In the original bug report I already cited national government websites, local government websites, acts of parliament (i.e. the actual text of laws written in the last 10 years), and two respectable national newspapers.

We know that distros have been patching this way, and we might guess the BSDs do it like that, too (based on the fact that OS X does). You've been cited the BBC now, too, and a 3rd (less reputable!) newspaper.

I'm sorry for saying "I'm British and this is how I write it" but I already put citations in the original bug report. I wouldn't have come here to nag you about getting this fixed - I only subscribed to this list because I discovered someone else had started this thread today on the bug that I reopened a week ago.

I do feel very lacking in qualifications and experience compared to the devs here, so I do apologise if I've said anything wrong or stepped out of line.
