When you have approval here, you don't need to wait for anything else.
When something requires updates to machine-specific code across all or
most machines, then you should post an announcement explaining what's
required to both libc-alpha and libc-ports.  When the machine-specific
work doesn't require deep machine knowledge, you're expected to do it
yourself for the machines in the main tree, even if you can't test them
all.  You're welcome to do it yourself for the machines in the ports tree
too, but you're not obliged to, and you need approval from each affected
machine's maintainer before committing to the ports repository yourself.
