I haven't seen any declaration of freeze, or request for architecture 
maintainers to ensure their architectures are up to date, test them and 
report results on the wiki page, from the release manager for this release 
(David).  I'm supposing that's waiting (at least) on a conclusion being 
reached on the remaining libc changes in support of the AArch64 port (one 
of which needs revising and posting to libc-alpha in revised form, having 
so far only gone to libc-ports, and one of which is waiting on Marcus 
Shawcroft's response to HJ's concerns).
