I have a few patches to send to you to finish up the arm-linux support and
then it should be in a working state for 2.1. As I write this I'm building the
library in various different configurations to test.
The versioning problem is almost certainly a fairly elementary bug in the
bfd elf32-arm code; I just haven't had the time to look at it yet. I don't
think we should be unduly worried.
The ARM a.out targets are a little bitrotted at the moment; some gconv changes
seem to have introduced more dependencies on dynamic linking. Again I haven't
had the time to look at this. The a.out stuff has become somewhat less
interesting now that ELF is up and running so I'm not too worried about this
either.
