What problem are you referring to about long double?

I am just brining my new box back back from the dead here in Ottawa,
it's my first local machine so I guess it'll take a day or two before
I have a system in a state I can do real work on it.

This is not a problem, it just means the kernel invoked the floating
point support code in EFI.
