This reflects a misunderstanding about what the ports repository is for.
Though we have moved lots of abandoned code to ports, it's not the case
that ports is only for abandoned code.  The ports repository is for code
that is not being maintained as part of the core glibc maintenance effort.
If there are folks actively interested in maintaining the nofpu code, then
that's just great.  In the ports repository, you can do that directly.
