I tried to call you to talk about this, but I may have an out-of-date 
phone number for you.

I'm geniunely perplexed.  I did immediately reply, and offer to revert 
my patch.  I'm happy to do that.  I also asked for a clarification of 
the V3 commit policy; I'm not sure of what rules you want in place.  I 
indicated that I'd respect those rules, and asked if you would document 
them.  I'm surprised that you're upset, but I'm trying to fix it.

I'm going to reply to the rest of your message soon, but while I'm 
researching I wanted to get this out.
